Understanding Complex Care
Complex home care services provide support for individuals with substantial and ongoing health needs, typically through a combination of live-in care and visiting care services. This type of care is often referred to as continuing care. Complex care encompasses a holistic approach, addressing all aspects of our clients' physical, clinical, cognitive, and social needs. At Habitus Homecare, our care managers are trained to assist with complex medical conditions, while our professional care assistants deliver personalised one-on-one care. This enables clients to remain in their own homes with dignity and independence. Habitus Homecare offers tailored complex care services to meet various individual needs. Our services range from compassionate companionship and assistance with light domestic tasks to specialised care for specific medical conditions. Our comprehensive, flexible, and beneficial complex home care services are designed to support those with ongoing health requirements.
Funding Complex Care
Eligibility for NHS-funded continuing care is typically determined by local clinical commissioning groups (CCGs). To qualify for NHS Complex Healthcare, an individual's primary need must be related to their health. If health is the main reason for requiring care, the NHS is responsible for meeting those care needs. A complex medical condition that necessitates significant intervention and ongoing support is generally assessed as requiring complex care. For individuals who are not eligible for NHS-funded care, funding may be available through the social care budget, which is managed by local authorities (councils). Social care benefits are means-tested, meaning an individual's personal financial circumstances are evaluated. Local authorities may charge for the services they arrange or provide or may request a contribution towards the costs.
